CALL ME TRIMTAB
A trimtab is a small rudder used on ships and aircraft.
Buckminster Fuller, who continuously created various inventions and concepts throughout his life to make humanity's existence sustainable. The fundamental idea behind his philosophy was "trimtab." Even a weak individual, with maximum determination and righteous actions, can move the gigantic ship that is humanity.
Based on this philosophy, the coined word combining Dynamic + Maximum + Tension, meaning "achieving the maximum with the minimum," was named DYMAXION.
The Dymaxion Map, published in 1954, was developed to project the 3D spherical Earth onto a 2D plane.
What is special about this map is that there is "no single correct perspective." If the faces of a regular dodecahedron are arranged in a specific combination, all continents are connected in a continuous landmass, unbroken by oceans.
Conversely, another combination reveals a single vast ocean enclosed by coastlines.
Fuller said, "In the universe, there is no up or down, no north or south, only outside and inside."
The common map, where north is up and south is down, might be a cultural prejudice.
WANSIE's philosophy of "special workwear in daily life" exists within "clothing, food, and shelter."
We will interpret this in line with Buckminster Fuller's concept of the Trimtab and his ideology of "Dymaxion," and adopt the words inscribed on his tombstone, "CALL ME TRIMTAB," as the concept for the FW25/26 season.
